Eastman showcased its dedication to being eco-friendly by unveiling Naia™ Renew ES staple fibers at a big textile exhibition in Shanghai. These fibers are Eastman’s newest sustainable invention for making clothes.
Carolina Sister Cohn, who leads global marketing for Eastman textiles, expressed excitement about introducing Naia™ Renew ES to the fashion world. She emphasized that these fibers are a big deal because they’re made from 60% recycled material and can make a significant impact on fashion’s environmental footprint.
At the exhibition, Eastman displayed more than 400 different fabrics and clothes made with Naia™ Renew staple fibers. These items demonstrated how versatile and sustainable textiles can be when using Naia™, showing Eastman’s influence on fashion.
Students from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology also got involved by creating garments with Naia™ fabrics, encouraging the next generation to embrace sustainable fashion and innovation.
Eastman collaborates with industry leaders and associations globally to spread awareness about molecular recycling’s benefits. In China, they’re working with the China National Textile and Apparel Council on a research project focusing on sustainable materials.
Naia™ Renew ES is made from 60% recycled waste and 40% responsibly sourced wood pulp, meeting the Global Recycled Standard. This approach reduces the need for new materials and tackles environmental issues like waste.
Eastman’s molecular recycling technology is crucial in turning hard-to-recycle waste into new, high-quality materials. Naia™ Renew was certified by the Global Recycled Standard in 2023, reflecting Eastman’s commitment to sustainability and responsibility.
Edmund Lu, Eastman’s commercial director for textiles in the Asia Pacific, highlighted Naia™ Renew’s popularity in various clothing and home textile categories. Its performance and versatility are winning over more customers, aligning with Eastman’s goal of making sustainable textiles accessible to everyone.
